DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOUR THERAPY

WE PROVIDE A COMPREHENSIVE DBT PROGRAM for the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder. Persons with ADHD and Complex Trauma also benefit from Stage 1 DBT skills training and are welcome to attend this portion of the program.

OUR THERAPISTS

  • Work closely as a community of practice providing a team approach.
  • Have Foundational and Advanced Intensive training with The Linehan Institute, Behavioral Tech.
  • Are experienced in the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders.
  • Meet as a group for yearly manual studies and group training to continually upgrade skills and knowledge.
  • Provide training in DBT and trauma-informed therapy.
  • Provide field education for practicum students and residents.

DBT SKILLS GROUP FOR ADOLESCENTS

This skills group is offered to adolescents in joint group sessions. The group teaches members to identity interpersonal goals and what gets in the way of being skillful.

      • Mindfulness skills: helps individuals to be more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and urges, and better able to focus their attention. 
      • Distress Tolerance skills: teaches reality acceptance skills and helps individuals get through difficult moments without making things worse.
      • Emotion Regulation skills: increases positive emotions in the short and long term, and reduces emotional vulnerability.
      • Interpersonal effectiveness skills: helps individuals identify interpersonal goals and what gets in the way of being skillful.
      • Walking the middle path skills: addresses the fundamental challenges that many teens and parents run into.

ADVANCED DBT SKILLS GROUP FOR ADOLESCENTS

This skills group is offered to adolescents in joint group sessions. The group teaches members to identity interpersonal goals and what gets in the way of being skillful.
