Dialectical Behaviour Therapy

WE PROVIDE A COMPREHENSIVE DBT PROGRAM for the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder.  Persons with ADHD and Complex Trauma also benefit from Stage 1 DBT skills training and are welcome to attend this portion of the program.

Our Therapists

  • Work closely as a community of practice providing a team approach.
  • Have Foundational and Advanced Intensive training with The Linehan Institute, Behavioral Tech.
  • Are experienced in the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders.
  • Meet as a group for yearly manual studies to continually upgrade skills and knowledge.
  • Provide training in DBT and trauma-informed therapy.
  • Provide field education for practicum students and residents.

    • The groups run for 24 weeks, divided into three modules.
    • New members join every 8 weeks.

ADVANCED DBT GROUP

    • This group also provides opportunities to address Stage II trauma issues, including closeness and making connections.

DBT Skills for Adolescents and Families

This multi-family skills group is offered to parents and adolescents in joint group sessions. The group teaches members to identity interpersonal goals and what gets in the way of being skillful.

    • Families struggling with mental health concerns.

    • 24 Weeks
  • Group Goals
    • Mindfulness skills: helps individuals to be more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and urges, and better able to focus their attention. 
    • Distress Tolerance skills: teaches reality acceptance skills and helps individuals get through difficult moments without making things worse.
    • Emotion Regulation skills: increases positive emotions in the short and long term, and reduces emotional vulnerability.
    • Interpersonal effectiveness skills: helps individuals identify interpersonal goals and what gets in the way of being skillful.
    • Walking the middle path skills: addresses the fundamental challenges that many teens and parent run into.
  • Cost
    • $150 per group session/per family

Recommendations: It is strongly recommended for parents to participate in the Circle of Security Parenting Programme to maximize the youths and adolescents learning and coping skills.
