Dialectical Behaviour Therapy

WE PROVIDE A COMPREHENSIVE DBT PROGRAM for the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder. Persons with ADHD and Complex Trauma also benefit from Stage 1 DBT skills training and are welcome to attend this portion of the program.

This skills group is offered to adolescents in joint group sessions. The group teaches members to identity interpersonal goals and what gets in the way of being skillful.

    • Mindfulness skills: helps individuals to be more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and urges, and better able to focus their attention. 
    • Distress Tolerance skills: teaches reality acceptance skills and helps individuals get through difficult moments without making things worse.
    • Emotion Regulation skills: increases positive emotions in the short and long term, and reduces emotional vulnerability.
    • Interpersonal effectiveness skills: helps individuals identify interpersonal goals and what gets in the way of being skillful.
    • Walking the middle path skills: addresses the fundamental challenges that many teens and parents run into.
